Take a look at what happens to work stoppages from 1980 to present and compare it to the corresponding change in income for the top 5% of Americans in the same time frame. (Displayed in red in the second graph.) Do you think this is causation or correlation? (Consider the political changes that occurred at that time -- with Reagan taking office -- before answering that question.)
