Please help rebuild Gaza's only medical 3D printing shop

Please consider making a small donation

I learned about Dr. Tarek Loubani’s work with 3D printing back in 2019, while I was developing a 3D printing filament made from recycled plastic. Dr. Loubani used 3D printers to make stethoscopes for Palestinian doctors that lacked access to them. The following video tells his story.

This week, Tashkeel3D, the 3D printing shop in Gaza that Dr. Loubani partners with, was destroyed. With that, the one shop using 3D printing technology to provide doctors with necessary medical equipment is now out of service.

Mohammed Abu Matar runs Tashkeel3D. His response to the loss of the shop is heartening.

Fortunately, a crowdfunding campaign is already underway, and it is off to a good start.

If you can afford to chip in, please do, and I would greatly appreciate it if you would help us share this with a broad audience. It would be a wonderful thing if they could get the shop up and running quickly again. Gaza could surely use the support for its doctors.

And for anyone worrying about the legitimacy of this (I often worry about crowdfunding campaigns), the campaign is being shared by Dr. Loubani and Mohammed, so this isn’t the sort of thing where someone is claiming to be fundraising without being connected.

Here’s some good news. 36 hours into the fundraiser, they’re already halfway to the goal. Let’s help them get the rest of it!

Please consider donating and helping get the word out. I’d greatly appreciate it.
