In his house divided speech, president Lincoln said the following.
I do not expect the Union to be dissolved — I do not expect the house to fall — but I do expect it will cease to be divided.
It will become all one thing or all the other.
What options are on the table for America now, and which one looks ascendant?
President Trump is expected to announce that federal agents will surge into several American cities including Chicago to help combat rising crime. Department of Homeland Security officers have already been dispatched to Portland and other localities.
